went up to truckee, ca today with joe and brad got breakfast and joe got his new ca id. while waiting for joe i convinced brad to ride cross country this summer. he actually sounds serious, it should be cool. i'm really looking forward to the ride.
talked to donny lee today, i'm going to go get a beer with him tonight and catch up on old times.
got back from a camping trip with the boy scouts, those kids get pretty annoying.
dave torch still hasn't moved in yet. no idea what the deal is.
heard from chris and it sounds like he's still stuck in santa cruz. hopfully he'll be on his way to portland soon.
well i got to see weezer play in SFO on saturday. it was highly neat, the sound was crap though it all you could hear was drums. spent most of sunday getting my server setup. katherinehouse.com is on it's way into existence.
clay shirky is one smart fellow.
man fuck all those shitty napster clones. winmx is the champ, it's got all the useful features i've ever seen in any clone but they're all in one place and it's stable. i sent them 10 bucks through paypal and told them to go buy some more crank.
chris is finally gone. he rolled out this morning for to santa cruz.
well over the last two days i've learned more than i wanted to know about chris' 79 chevy van. yesterday we drove down to my parents house to get a saw to make a box for the back. the u-joints went out as we were pulling out of the drive way, so we spent about two hours getting that replaced only to have it not start. after a bunch of fucking with it we called triple a and had them tow it back to our house. after poking at it for most of the day we found the clutch switch (there's a real name for it but i don't rememeber it) had broken. a little piece of sheet metal shorted it out nicely and the van starts again. yeah for us.
man the generation after mine sure doesn't know how to do a school shooting properly. fucking shit if you're after the bullies who beat you up go shot them not random people. klebold & harris weren't much better, how many jocks are in the library at lunch? um... try the locker room at 4pm when football practice is over. god damn idiots.
yeah for being sick. instead of getting some rest when i first noticed that i wasn't feeling well i decided to be tough and get sick.
just noticed that i haven't said how happy i am with this laptop all week... i'll have to keep up on that.
I rode this the route in 1999 so quite a bit may have changed, use it at your own risk. The route leaves from downtown Sacramento following State Highway 160 South.
*Comming back I found a route that avoided the Hwy84/I680 portion and went through Pleasonton then on the bike lane along Stanley Blvd into Livermore. I didn't take notes but it was flat and had plenty of space to ride on. Eventually I'll find the map I used and update this with that info.
well i haven't updated this in a while, so i'll catch up from last weekend.
friday night was the 80's pop star party. brad was prince (with ass cheaks visible), chris was billy idol, joe bruce springstein, and i was shenade o'connor. the turn out was good and we ended up with a whole lot of beer bottles to recycle.
saturday and sunday sam, sara, tim and myself went to sfo/sjc to see eri(c|k). it was nice, we went down to the beach on our way back.
this week i've been working on gettin the trip journal up. i'm happy with the way it's turning out. i still need to get the rest of the pictures put in it.
i'm still climbing, i've met some really cool people up there. i'm pretty stoked on this one girl niht, i've been hanging out with her and joe a little. i've got a list of things i need to work on to get better at bouldering, it's mostly building up my arms and growing some balance.
