the full arc of the bush administration's lies about iraqi wmd. from dick cheney saying, "simply stated, there is no doubt that saddam hussein now has weapons of mass destruction." to paul wolfowitz saying, "for bureaucratic reasons, we settled on one issue, weapons of mass destruction (as justification for invading Iraq) because it was the one reason everyone could agree on." it's straight from the mouths of the bush crime family.
oh thank you boing boing for providing me with this link. my favorite part:
Once inside, he wasted no time in taking what was rightfully his, pulling her close for a long, moist and humid kiss. Their tongues intertwined like snakes slithering in a dance of forbidden love. His well-trained hands ripped open her T-shirt and smoothly undid her bra with only minor help from her. Her pendulous breasts swayed in anticipation as his toothless mouth gummed her large, perpetually hard nipples to a near exploding peak.
it's enough to make me start checking nerve.com regularly again.
for some reason hearing about old people having sex (other than my parents (for some reason grandparents didn't bother me though...)) just seems reassuring, like life doesn't end at 50.
krista and i went with some friends from school to see the new matrix movie last night. the dialogue was corny, the fight scenes were amazing, i fucking loved it. they took the best elements of hong kong martial arts flicks added some rehashed thoughts by plato and william blake and rocked out.
one bit of plot that we couldn't help but speculate about: did you notice the way evolutionary forces in zion seemed to favor the the most beautiful people? the best theory we could come up with was the initial population was selected in the described at the end of dr. strangelove:
"Naturally, they would breed prodigiously, eh? There would be much time, and little to do. Ha, ha. But ah, with the proper breeding techniques and a ratio of say, ten females to each male"

the washington post has a pretty damningly comprehensive catalogue of the us weapons inspectors' failures.
cnn has a pretty good wrap up of the texas democrat's maneuvering to block the republican's redistricting attempt that would have (surprisingly) eliminated four democratic seats there by solidifying house speaker tom delay's hold on power. if you're interested in the full story of delay's involvement of the new dept of homeland security you should check out josh marshal's coverage over at talkingpointsmemo.com.
after reading this article in salon about the shit the dixie chicks have been through for daring to question the bush administration, i threw aside my prohibition on major label music and forked over for one of their albums.
i haven't been posting much about the invasion of iraq, with school going on i haven't had the time to keep up on the quickly changing events. so when i have had a chance to post something i've been pretty conservative.
the one thing that has become very apparent in the last couple of weeks is that this war was sold to the american people with lies. where are all those thousands of tons of wmd? where are the terrorist connections? or more simply where are the threats to the american people?
the effect of basing our war on these lies that didn't fool the rest of the world, is that now there's no one to pick up the slack for us. instead of building a democracy we're building a bigger lebanon.
just got over some kind of nasty bug, at least it wasn't sars. now i've got two days worth of school to make up and i've got to finish my move. thanks to krista though i'm back on my feet and surley as ever.
stanford has purchased an suv sized robot to scan books. i've gotta say that's some pretty cool tech.
it's a good time to be in school in oregon. annectdotal evidence seems to show that it's almost impossible to find work. lord knows i'm enjoying my existing credit debt (~$2,000) and a negative $50 checking account balance but at least i'm making a reasonable wage and getting hours doing vb programing for my old company down in reno.
i'd like to thank boingboing for pointing out a cool article about jack chick creator of the chick tracts. collect them all.
spent the last weekend and part of this week moving to a much nicer apartment. it's only $125 a month more than the shitty little studio i had and i get three times the space. it was really fluky how it came up mid-month and i was able to jump on it. apparently the guy before me was a bit of an "amature gardener" and it got him in trouble with the cops--of course the four hookahs and the shotgun probably didn't help. oh well, his loss is my gain, it's a great apartment right on the park blocks in the middle of campus. now i'm able to roll out of bed and into class in 3 minutes.
