What i didn't mention in the entry is that the giant avalance of rocks and boulders on upper Mount Adams was the specific and literal coming true of a dream I had a month ago. It was a very affecting dream at the time and I told a couple people about it. In the dream I identified the mountain as Mount Rainier, but Mount Adams is visually almost identical to Rainier. The rest of it (the giant thundering avalanche of volcanic rock from the summit rim down vertical wall to lower glacier, after hiking to a moderately high altitude) was the same (including the traverse of a long snowfield in the bright sun.)
